Family from Afar!

Spending time at the temple is always a highlight of any trip.  We were able to go with the youth from Romania to the Rome temple one last time before returning home.  They are amazing and confident.  The church is in good hands as they mature into the leaders there.  A little trip downtown capped off a wonderful spirit filled week.  Our highlight was being there with Ana Maria, Elisa and Sophia for their first time.










Families are Forever!

We left Rome and took a short side quest to Germany to see our kids there.  Clemens and Anna picked us up in Bremen and went to Anna's village of Lohne where we stayed a few days.  We were able to meet both of their families and had wonderful times with each.  While in the area we were able to spend some time with Luca, Christopher, Marcella and Henrich.  It was great to see them again.  Clemens and Christopher gave us a tour of the Grimme facility.  Amazing place.  We also attended church in Osnabruck and toured the city afterwards.  Later in the week, Anna took us back to Bremen and we walked the city center before leaving.  







The welcome home crew at the airport was awesome.  It's great to be home with the family.  They are our ROCK!  Slavă Domnului.

The last 22 months of our lives has, without a doubt, been life changing.  We have learned to judge less and love more.  The thought that all we can offer our Savior is a broken heart and a contrite spirit has been on our minds as we conclude.  Our hearts are definitely broken for many reasons, but this has allowed us to leave a piece in both countries.

Let the celebrating begin The lights of the Christmas market were magical.  We had a wonderful and relaxing evening enjoying the sights and sounds of the Holidays. We stopped by a local artisan gathering, purchased a few things and even tried on the sheep skin.  It was fairly cold out and I was just standing there visiting with his wife in the booth and this gentleman walked over to me took off the skin and put it on me.  He then grabbed a hat out of his booth and stuck it on my head.  The thing was crazy heavy.  He told us it was 25 kg, that's about 55 lbs.  It was all of that.  Would have preferred keeping it on but he wanted it back. For our weekly District Council, we combined it with a service project and filled bags with a few items.  We had fun filling them and each companionship took a few out to distribute. A week of miracles

  Rome Temple We had the blessing of attending the Rome Italy Temple this week with the FSY age youth and the young single adults (YSA) from Romania.  There were about 36 of them (which represents about 80-90% of those of age to go) and another dozen or so leaders and support staff.  The Rome Italy Temple is Europe’s Temple Square.  On these sacred grounds holds the Temple, Visitor/Family Search Center, Stake Center and patron housing.  This is where we spent 5 wonderful days, waking up to walk a short distance to enter the Lord's house was an incredible experience.  Every day, time was spent in the temple and to see the lives transformed through this remarkable service was amazing to witness and to be a small part of.  Several days when they weren't in the temple, they had the opportunity to attend the Family Search Center, where they were able to research family names and take them to the temple.  Many of them are first generation members and th...

YSA and tender mercy's

There is beauty all around Peleș Castle, located in Romanian's Carpathian Mountains near Sinaia, is a masterpiece of German New-Renaissance architecture built between 1873 and 1914 for King Carol I.  Famous for being the first European castle with electricity.  It features over 160 opulent rooms with intricate wood carvings and stunning stained glass.  It is often referred to as one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.  It did not disappoint. Bran Cast le,  was built by Saxons  in 1377 who were given the privilege by  Louis I of Hungary.   It is a national monument and landmark in Transylvania.   Marketed outside Romania as Dracula's Castle,  it is presented as the home of the title character in Bram Stoker's novel Dracula  (1897).  Brașov,  is located in the central part of the country and  is surrounded by the Southern Carpathians  and is part of the historical region of Transylvania.  ...
