There is beauty all around

  P-Day adventure We decided to take a little drive and explore an area we hadn't seen yet.  We knew we wanted to see a few more of the painted churches but we not totally prepared for the beauty we were about to experience.  We saw two more of the churches and so much more.  A third church is under renovation, so we didn't stop this time around. There are about three more in the same area we hope to see too.  Not sure if we can beat the weather this year, we may have to wait until spring.  We'll see. Sucevița Mănăstirea Moldovița Mănăstirea The farmer kids in us can't resist the crops being harvested and the time of year that brings so many memories flooding back.  From top to bottom we have the corn cut and stacked in standing piles, the sunflower seeds being loaded into the truck, the first potato harvester we've seen, a pile of sugar beets, fresh mown hay, grass cut and hanging to dry, apples galore (and a bonus church in the background), and yes g...

East Zone Conference   Of course, Zone Conference was awesome again and very inspiring.  It was coupled with a bit of fun competition, and the Iasi District did amazing.  They were all about eating something, fast.  Elder Taylor did the Oreo on the forehead so fast that I didn't even get a photo of him eating it. We had to go into Bucharest the day before Zone Conference because of the distance and it gave us the opportunity to visit one of our favorite Romanian families, the Doru's.  Their story is incredible, which we will share at a later time.  Just know that the church is in good hands with families like these.  Again, the trip to and from Bucharest didn't disappoint.  There are plenty of sites to see and we never get tired of the landscape, architecture and culture. The Palace of the Parliament building in Bucharest is incredible.  It is the world's second-largest administrative building with a surface area of 360,000 square meters (3,9...
