Perplexing Parking Procedures
Passing the mantle
So, we had to take the sisters to the immigration office to pick up a residency card. We pulled over just long enough to let them out, which is very common. I looked up and noticed this stack of signs. 30 kph speed limit, passing zone, "no parking" and a towing warning for parking. There were obviously no cars parked in the zone. However, after further inspection though, the cars are parked on the sidewalk, which is also very common. It is much safer to park on the sidewalk rather than the street, at least there, there is no chanced to be towed. Go figure. I am a little worried about some of the driving habits I've picked up. I'm sure the officer will totally understand.
Transfers happened again this week and we served them the unthinkable. Something inside a croissant! That's just what we do. Sorry to offend our European friends. Vârstnicii Storrs (fresh from the MTC), Roberts, Morrell (new to us), Patchett, Surori Leavitt, Spencer, Kent (new to us) and yours truly. We love them and they love food.
We had a gully washer this week. It came out of nowhere and the wind was incredible. It was gone in just a short time.
Some more sights from our travels. The flowers are amazing and they take such good care of them. We walked down to the Centru (Center) and found ourselves in the middle of a family fun-paint run.
We have tried to see this monastery, Mănăstirea Cetățuia, several times since we've been here, but it is under construction. We went back and made our way through the stuff enough to get a few pictures. It was built in 1669. It's cool but in such disrepair. It sets on the hill overlooking all of Iași.
An evening stroll down Ștefan Cel Mare didn't disappoint.
President and Sister Fowler have completed their service here in Romania after 3 years. What a blessing they have been to so many. They will be sorely missed. However; the Lord in His wisdom has provided another consecrated family to lead the mission into the next chapter. President and Sister Leavitt along with their daughters Abby and Vivian arrived this week. We are excited to see the great things they will do.

The day after they arrived, they started Zone Conferences. North and West zones on Thursday (here) and South and East zones on Friday (photo unavailable). It was a wonderful time to get to know each other, learning together, and basking in the spirit. We love being together.
Sora Maria hemmed a pair of pants for Sora Leavitt on her pedal sewing machine. She is an awesome seamstress and loves to create.
