When in Rome
Do as the Romans!
We had limited time and to be honest, energy. We did make it to a few of the sites. The Colosseum is a must. In addition, we visited the Arch of Constantine, Roman Forum, Baths of Diocletian and a variety of other buildings and churches. The history alone in compelling and there is so much to see. Guess we'll just need to come back.
Of course, you must eat with the locals. The few meals enjoyed were everything we expected and more. I must say the veal steak was much larger than expected.
The streets of Rome never disappointed. There was always plenty going on and no shortage of water and unexpected sites. There are water fountains all over and they are great, cold too.
Addio Roma! We had a wonderful week as described in our previous post. We really feel blessed to have had the opportunity to go and help out in some small way.
This sums up our experience in Rome. We were home for less than 24 hours, washed clothes repacked and then hopped in the car and drove six hours to Bucharest for our mission conference with Elder and Sister Alliaud, our Area President.
The day was packed with inspirational and uplifting messages. We came away feeling the desire to be a little better and be more diligent and bolder as we go about doing good.
We met some new friends while in Bucharest. This was the first time meeting some of them. The Casebolt's were traveling so we met them for breakfast. The Schneiter's were also traveling in. These are some of the best Senior Missionary Couples. They each bring wisdom, gifts and talents to help in hastening the Lord's work. We are honored to serve with them and make eternal friendships. The view from the room was nice, the early morning sunrise, the parliament building and a very large church which I believe is similar to a national cathedral. Stunning architecture.
