Week 12 Pies, Zone Conferences and Thanksgiving

I couldn't resist sharing this photo of my eternal companion.  She is amazing in every way and is ALWAYS brightening someone's day.  There is constantly someone saying to her "you have such a light about you, you're different."  They couldn't be more right.  She exemplifies Christlike qualities in everything she does.  I love her to death, and beyond.

Our weekly YSA/FHE was a hit once again.  We love these young people emensely and enjoy hanging out with them.  I quess you're only as old as those around you allow to be.

This week was Zone conferences and last transfer President organized the Central Zone again, so we are back to four.  Sister Namgur, Sister Leavitt and the Sister Training Leaders (STL's) gathered to make pies for all four.  So, at the end of the day they had made 16 slab pies.  Mom used to call them deep dish.  Nevertheless, they were a huge hit and brought just a bit of home to everyone for Thanksgiving.

We made it to three of the four conferences, and they were wonderful.  They were full of training, fun, conversation, great food and cleaning.  This time each conference finished with the zone cleaning the respective church buildings and as usual they did a great job.  They even got a crash course in leading music from Sister Namgur.  Some may want to keep their day jobs.  At least they tried.

Thanksgiving dinner worked out pretty well.  We were able to find some seasoned chickens (actually better than turkey) and many of the trimmings and enjoyed sharing it with our district and Elders Unbold and Tuguldur who were here for Zone Conference and didn't leave on the bus for their six-hour ride until after 8:00 pm.  We loved having them all and sharing a wonderful evening with them.  We spoke of memories of Thanksgivings from home, for the Americans, and things we were all grateful for.  There may have been a tear or two shed.  These six exemplify the goodness of all one-hundred and twenty-eight of some of the greatest human beings on the face of the earth.  We wished we could have shared the same experience with all of them.

In keeping with the theme of the week, we can't express how thankful we are for all of you.  As the hymn goes, "Each life that touches ours for good, reflects thine own great mercy Lord, Thou sendest blessings from above, thru words and deeds of those who love."  Our life has been abundantly blessed by each and every one with whom we have come in contact with over the years.  We are extremely greatful for loving children who are understanding and have allowed us to fulfill this dream and have been totally supportative in every way.  We "live in thanksgiving daily..."
