Week 15 Buuz building 101

  Again, we began our week with a wonderful CFM/FHE.  We spend a little time at the beginning of the evening going over the CFM reading for the week and their input and thoughts are awesome.  We admire their simple faith and exuberance for the Gospel and the Saviors message of love. Our first experience with making Buuz was over-the-top fun.  We were invited to our friend Gan-Erdene's house and there had the blessing of meeting his family.  What an evening and the beginning of a truly eternal friendship.  The pictures don't really do the experience justice, but the videos may fill in some of the gaps.  We began by rolling the dough into a snake and then cutting off small pieces.  Then rolled it flat into about a 4" circle.  That's a lot tougher than it looks.  Then you fill them with a prepared meat and then tuck and pinch.  You can see the traditional shapes that are beautiful.  Ours on the other hand looked like a "mouse" and...

Week 14 Season of Giving

Tis the season.  Even though it doesn't feel much like Christmas around here we have found a few secular reminders.  We do however rejoice every day in our Saviors birth, life and plan of redemption for us all. We had a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends from Wisconsin, via Tokyo.  The Shearer's are serving as the Asia North Area Medical Specialists and had come to Ulaanbaatar for a conference.  We were able to enjoy a fabulous evening and dinner with them and the Butler's before they returned to Tokyo.  The lamb chops and salmon were divine too, by the way. I kind of wonder what the goatee may have looked like if he would have let it grow just a bit more.  Either way they both look super important.  We're going to miss these guys tremendously.  They may never know how much they have done for us and the impact they have had as we arrived in Mongolia to begin this adventure.  хайртай шүү Did we mention that besides being the coldes...
